QLD emergency data: sources and coverage

Queensland publishes from its dispatch system rather than a fire-only feed, so structure fires, rescues, road crashes and hazmat all arrive through the same channel as bushfires.

Overview

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) publishes the primary feed through ESCAD, the Emergency Services Computer Aided Dispatch system. It covers all incident types including structure fires, rescues, motor vehicle accidents, hazmat and bushfires. A second feed carries bushfire-specific alerts, and a third carries storm, flood and cyclone warnings as CAP-AU.

Integration notes

Agencies
QFD (all incidents via ESCAD), QFD-WARN (bushfire alerts), EMQ (storm, flood and cyclone warnings).
Timestamps
Compact UTC format (YYYYMMDDHHmmss, for example "20260406040300"). Unusual among Australian feeds and requires custom parsing.
Auth
All three feeds are public. No authentication required.
Strength
ESCAD covers all incident types in one feed, not just bushfires, so a single integration returns a broad picture of the state.
